Google Glass - Ethics Conference

On Thursday, September 26th at 9:30 AM there was an ethics conference held in room 304 in the Nigh University Center.

The speaker this morning was Lily Beth, she worked for the Oklahoman and also demonstrated the new technology known as Google Glass. Google’s new product Google Glass is still in the BETA stage of productivity. The technology, which fits on your face like glasses, intends for you to be more personal with the world around you instead of being sucked into the world of your phone.

Google Glass has potential of being a vital step in the right direction for blogging and journalism in media. The video feature I believe will be the most effective. The technology allows you to be mobile while also filming high definition footage. This could change the world of blogging and journalism during battle in war.  This is a logical application for the safety of the journalists.

The strongest point that the speaker made was about how a reporter in Iran used it during a broadcast in battle. I believe that this keeps the reporter safe while also sparing a cameraman from carrying around a thirty-pound camera everywhere.  The weakest part section the speaker covered was that she pointed out flaws about the product to many times. It would be more effective if she pointed out just the strengths.
